HENNESSY ARTISTRY 2010 promises to outdo their last H-Artistry which had homegrown star Caprice, international super-band Boys Like Girls and an insane crowd. Setting the tone for the party at Opera is the Hennessy Mixing Zone which gets a facelift and will feature four new and improved zones – the Hennessy Mix Master, Hennessy Mixing Bar, the Hennessy Digital Light Art Effects, and a Hennessy Live Twitting Zone. Definitely, turning up the heat. (A little part of me shrieked with joy when I found out about the Hennessy Live Twitting Zone. Y’all tweet-addicts, like me, will be able to update your statuses which are then broadcasted live throughout the whole event.)

Every year Hennessy Artistry Artist's Global Art of Mixing takes place GLOBALLY and is without a doubt one of the flyest global musical phenomenon, bringing together musical talents from both East & West. This year, HENNESSY ARTISTRY is bringing an outstanding line-up of musical talents from Malaysia and Japan. Highlighting the first installment of the HENNESSY ARTISRTY of 2010 is DJ Sarasa aka Silverboombox forte’s a crossover selection of Hip Hop, Funk, Disco, Soul, Breakbeats and House music. This turntable-chick break dances while DJ-ing! How sick is that?! :D Am stoked to watch her spin.

Local boys, Bunkface is gonna be there too revving up the night with all their addictive hits, like ‘Silly Lily’ & ‘Through My Window’ (the infamous TM ad song) with all their indie-goodness. Other acts of the night include DVJ G Mix and beat-boxer, Shawn Lee.

Turning up this party up another notch, HENNESSY ARTISTRY this time, is jazzing up their Hennessy VSOP-mix flavours. Apart from the signature Hennessy Apple & Hennessy Ginger, brand new long drinks are gonna make their debut to the event: Hennessy Citrus and Hennessy Berry.

Oh, and I didn’t forget.. FREE FLOW Hennessy all night. AWL NAITE!

HENNESSY ARTISTRY’s hoping for a ballpark figure of 2000 sophisticated clubbers to attend. Armed with what they have in store? Am still devastated.
Whenever I think of it now, it feels like a void. I feels like I've lost a friend.
My whole life was on that. It was with me when I was bored, entertained, sleepy, couldn't sleep, needed to tweet, eBay, was in awkward situations, when I did not want to socialize, needed to wake up, needed to be reminded. To think it even got me through break-ups, break offs, & PMS-episodes. Shakespeare said "Journeys end in lovers meeting." What an extraordinary thought. Personally, I have not experienced anything remotely close to that, but I am more than willing to believe Shakespeare had.

I suppose I think about love more than anyone really should. I am constantly amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who also said "love is blind". Now that is something I know to be true.

For some quite inexplicably, love fades; for others love is simply lost. But then of course love can also be found, even if just for the night. And then, there's another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its victims. Its called unrequited love. Of that I am an expert. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded. The handicapped without the advantage of a great parking space!

Yes, you are looking at one such individual. And I have willingly loved that man for over three miserable years! The absolute worst years of my life! The worst Christmas', the worst Birthday's, New Years Eve's brought in by tears and valium. These years that I have been in love have been the darkest days of my life. All because I've been cursed by being in love with a man who does not and will not love me back. Oh god, just the sight of him! Heart pounding! Throat thickening! Absolutely can't swallow! All the usual symptoms.

-From The Holiday.

(Try reading that with Hans Zimmer's score playing in the background. You won't survive it.)

--

"The life I know before I met you, I knw that. I could do that forever. Now look at me. What do I do with all this?

-From some movie. However, people often ask for a simple explanation of "Marketing." Well, here it is:

1. You're a woman and you see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and say, "I'm fantastic in bed."

That's Direct Marketing.

1. You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a handsome guy. One of your friends goes up to him and, pointing at you, says, "She's fantastic in bed."

That's Advertising.

1. You see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and get his telephone number. The next day you call and say, "Hi, I'm fantastic in bed."

That's Telemarketing.

1. You see a guy at a party; you straighten your dress. You walk up to him and pour him a drink. You say, "May I?" and reach up to straighten his tie, brushing your breast lightly against his arm, and then say, "By the way, I'm fantastic in bed."

That's Public Relations.

1. You're at a party and see a handsome guy. He walks up to you and says, "I hear you're fantastic in bed."

That's Brand Recognition.

1. You're at a party and see a handsome guy. He fancies you, but you talk him into going home with your friend.

That's a Sales Rep.

1. Your friend can't satisfy him so he calls you.

That's Tech Support.

1. You're on your way to a party when you realize that there could be handsome men in all these houses you're passing, so you climb onto the roof of one situated towards the centre and shout at the top of your lungs, "I'm fantastic in bed!"

That's Junk Mail.

Florence and the Machine - Kiss with a Fist

An old track, but love it anyway. I believe the dress as-is is gorgeous, bright and loud, but her tan is really.. urgh- against it. She looks dull and lacklustre and very train-wreck-ish. One Anna.

Ashley Olsen is working this dress. Her sleek hair works really well with the simplicity of this dress. She looks absolutely elegant. Love the small-bag, too. Two and a half Anna's.

The usually chic Posh Spice in this Marc Jacobs piece failed to 'wow' me. I like that it's polka-dotted, but it's just looking cheap on her. Too much leg, too much drama going on at the back. I don't know, I just don't like it. Half an Anna.

My love for Diane Kruger multiplied by 5x after I saw this dress. It's a lovely lovely LOVELY mini lace dress. Such a vintage-looking piece. Short but not skanky-looking. Very very chic. Three Anna's.

Kate Bosworth in this stunning Stella McCartney vintage-looking piece. Very old-Hollywood. The hair, the red lips against this laced-back dress. Gorgeous, but not the best. Love how classy this looks. Two and a half Anna's.

Madonna's too old for this. She's starting to look like a joke. And it's sad. Half an Anna.

I really don't like this dress. It seems Blake has a pattern this year, don't it? The plunging, exposing dresses with lots of boob and leg. Give us something different Blake! Half an Anna.

At least we'll know the other Olsen sister did better this round. Mary-Kate channels metallic-laced wicked witch of the west. I don't like the layers, I don't like the colours. It's an odd shape, let's be honest. One Anna.

Gold Lamé is so past season, but I guess someone didn't get the memo. Nonetheless, not a disaster on her. One and a half Anna.

Cannot get over how lovely this cream pastel dress looks on Marion Cotillard. It's so classy, and with that hair, it's totally sweet-girly. Her whole ensemble is perfect and simple. Two and a half Anna.

I love old americana

TAVIK's Swimwear Summer 2010 is exactly all things classic Americana. The boys from Free Energy managed to get my ears to smile and spread enough sunshine in my face with Dream City. If you're having a barbecue or out on the beach, this one belongs in the mobile hub. Definitely one to lookout for if you're into happy beats. Or if you like Gossip Girl.

Sounds like: Rooney, The Strokes

Can you read the CAPTCHA?

CAPTCHA is an acronym for “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Human Apart”. CAPTCHAs are used to test in computing to ensure that the response is not generated by a computer. (An ant-spam bot solution)

So generally, it's supposed to be simple. Here's how you regular CAPTCHA's look like.

But not all CAPTCHAs are like these. Some CAPTCHAs are just impossible to figure - no matter who you are (a robot or a human), you won’t pass the test. Here’s my gallery of impossible CAPTCHAs:

(So I guess everyone in Russia knows advanced math.)

And one of my personal favourites - Braille.

[Source: http://humourcafe.blogspot.com/...]

(This is the 3D image, you gotta put your face up real close and slowly pull away. I'm thinking the spread is about 7 years old, and it still blows me away. Model seen here is Russian beauty Natalia Vodianova and it's one of those photoshoots that have all the big named-designers in it. So we have the usual suspects: Galliano, Ford, Jacobs, Lagerfeld, Gaultier, Ms.Donatella. Then we have the not-always seen ones: Viktor/Rolf, Lacroix, Theyskens (for Rochas) & Ghesquière (for Balenciaga); all gloriously photographed by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. (It's a shame she had to get tangled up in that Miley Cyrus nonsense.)

Natalia wears a Chanel Haute Couture satin embroidered jacket on the introductory cover with drapped satin skirt.

Natalia seen here in a Helmut Lang dress.

Tom Ford as The White Rabbit. Natalia seen here wrapped in a sky-blue silk-satin Yves Saint Laurent Gauche dress.

Alice walks through the looking glass, while Nicolas Ghesquière, as her black kitty, looks on. On Natalia is an ocean-blue Balenciaga couture dress.

John Galliano as the Queen of Hearts. Natalia sports a hand-painted polka-dotted Dior Haute Couture dress.

Olivier Theyskens as Lewis Carroll. Natalia as Alice Liddel. Now in actual story here, Lewis Caroll (despite having an insanely vivid, illustrious imagination) was a man in his mid-thirties who enjoyed taking photographs of Alice Liddel, who was about 6, and her sisters. He'd especially enjoy it when it was just Alice. Now, in today's terms, that'd would be pedophilia.

Marc Jacobs as the Caterpillar . Natalia wears Jacob's light-lilac minidress. God he looks hot here. My heart totally lurches at the sight of tragic, distressed-looking men. Straight or not.

Karl Lagerfeld in Pig & Pepper. Natalia wears same outfit as on the intro cover. The level of detail in that piece is glorious.

Jean Paul Gaultier as the Cheshire Cat. Natalia wears the blue silk-jersey drapped dress by Gaultier.

Viktor & Rolf as Tweedledum and Tweedledee, sporting identical patterned suits of their design, while Natalia wears their multi-layed silk dress. I love the shape of that dress. It's so structured and geometrical. It never bores me watching these two come up with designs. You should see their store layout.

Stephen Jones as the Mad Hatter and Christian Lacroix as the March Hare. Natalia in a Christian Lacroix Haute Couture dress with painted and sculpted mink dickey over a lace top and frilled lamé skirt.

Donatella as the Gryphon with Rupert Everett as the Mock Turtle. Natalia in Atelier Versace layered silk-tulle and chiffon-organza dress lined in lace.

Annie Leibovitz utilizes Surrealism superbly to recreate the fantasy-world which Alice lived in.
I love fantasy-fashion shoots because of her, and no one pulls it off classier than Annie.

Lets take this bird on the runway

Bienvenue! As some of you might know, Clowve has existed for about a good 4-5 years now. It never actually had a direction per se, so I'm thinking of channeling it into something completely different now. Clowve is now CLOШ▼≡. You can read the sidebar for more info.

Now, to kick off this premier post, it's red-carpet season again. We're talking Emmy's. It's going to be a bloodbath. Take a look.

Blake Lively, who couldn't decide between her legs or her chest to flaunt decided to go with both of them exposed, sported a skimpy chilli-red dress and together with her is pal, Leighton Meester, sporting a frock with.. swimming aid. I guess they both wanted to look 'grown up' while they were playing dress-up. So Leighton packed on the makeup and wore a toga doned with toilet rolls on each shoulder while Blake pulled a Michelle Branch. Did I mention that Blake has a gigantor, Tomb-Raider of a braid going on at the back?

You girls have plenty to learn from the old timers in the biz. Like THIS.

You may remember Shohreh Aghdashloo from The Lake House? Dressed to the nines in this midnight-blue dress that is perfectly suited for her age. The dress, the makeup, the hair and the jewelry blend together nicely. Although I might be in a bit of a 50-50 dilemma here. There seems to be a disruptance in the balance because a godforsaken green band hanging on to that wrist of hers! What is it doing there?? In other news, the PA at the background seems to be pretty interesting. She's somehow managed to transform her clincher into a utility belt! Notice how she has the walkie clinging onto it.

Now when I saw Kate Walsh in this dress, it did not look as flattering as it did in this photo. But I'll say it, it does look pretty fantastic as long as you don't see it sideways/in motion. THIS, is what I saw:

So, I'm thinking, the dress has too much going on over there. It's overdrapped and completely overwhelming when she walks. It looks unfinished. It looks sloopy and it looks messy. Is it just me or does that dress seem to illustrate her divorce impecably? Especially after all that drama, figures you'd try to look hotter than ever and all just to stick it to the ex? But this dress in grey/light lilac? Honey.. I don't think you understand the context of 'sticking it to the ex'.

Now of all the sea of red, asymmetrical dresses of last Sunday, this has to be the one that stands out the most. Risks paid off indeed January Jones. Paid off indeed. Its daring, bold and geometrical. Very hard stuff compared to the unpleated chiffon/satins we've been seeing around this time.

Before I hit the sack, I've saved this one to be the last image before I hit that 'Publish Post' button and get some shut eyes. Quite frankly after that incident at the Oscars YEARS ago, I never thought anyone would have enough guts to actually pull off another Bjork, ever. Tragically we were proven wrong.

Daytime star, Victoria Rowell thought it'd be just a ball to wear the President's face on her dress. Well, there you go. Your 5 seconds of fame. You'll never be as impressionable as BJORK! NEVER!
